Peyton and Nancy Knight have owned their auto repair shop in Roxbury Township since March 1984. They have four adult children, the youngest of whom, Justin, has joined them in the family business. When you bring your vehicle to Knight’s Automotive Repair, we listen carefully and investigate the problem before we give you the news about your car, good or bad. We make it a priority to give you honest answers to your automotive questions and concerns. Our ASE-certified mechanics and staff are extremely knowledgeable and skilled when it comes to the repair of any vehicle, whether domestic or import, all makes and models.

Our family business has been in town since 1984 when Peyton first took ownership of what was at the time a gas-only Shell Station located at 11 Route 10 East in Succasunna. He opened the garage up and started repairing vehicles there, first working by himself and eventually hiring additional help as he grew to meet the gasoline, auto repair and maintenance needs of the local community.
A combination of hard work and the increase of residential and commuter traffic brought on by suburban development in the area contributed to Peyton’s success. He took Succasunna Shell from pumping 10,000 gallons per month to pumping 150,000 gallons per month in volume while building the auto repair business in the three previously closed garage bays.
Over the course of the thirteen (13) years that he owned the franchise, he won numerous achievement awards including the prestigious Shell Oil Company Circle of Excellence Award.
With sights set on expansion and getting out of the 24/7 gas station franchise business, in 1996, Peyton and I entered into a lease agreement with Sam Mino for his building at 171 East Main Street in Ledgewood. At the same time with our four children now in school full time, I joined Peyton in running Knight’s Automotive Repair.
A year later, on June 1st, 1997 we became a AAA Approved Auto Repair Facility, after going through their vetting process and meeting their high standards for excellence. Through our affiliation with them and our high customer satisfaction ratings, we have been awarded AAA Shop of the Year multiple times. We will be marking our 27th year with AAA this year.
As much as we enjoy reflecting on the past, we are very much focused on the future of Knight’s Automotive Repair. We purchased our building in 2011 so we have a vested interest in continuing to operate our business in Roxbury for many years to come. With the addition of our youngest son Justin to our business team, we look forward to taking Knight’s Automotive Repair well into the future under his leadership.
As we celebrate our 40th year in business, we would like to thank the local families and businesses who over the years have continued to support Knight’s Automotive Repair. We are forever grateful. We pledge our continued support to all the local community organizations, sports, recreational and arts programs that are so vital to the quality of life here in Roxbury. From our experience there is no better place to live or run a business.
